Meditations on ancestral remembrance, defiance, and joy
Meditations on ancestral remembrance, defiance, and joy
I am a Washington, DC-based artist with over 15 years experience and formal training from Howard University and the Rhode Island School of Design. My work is influenced by my family legacy of making and celebration of Black joy and culture throughout the diaspora.
Each piece tells a distinct story. Meditation and dreamwork guide much of my imagery, direction, and expression.
Each artwork is a dialogue between the past and future. I combine the making techniques passed down to me with my formal training and technological explorations.
